Secure Email

CSEC SecureEmail, is a MS Outlook Plug-in for encrypted email exchange, this is achieved through the creation of a Public and a Private Key. To encrypt an email the user just has to type the recipient’s address: the program will automatically select the recipient’s public key and use it to encrypt the message and the (if any) attachments. To further improve security session keys are also used: meaning that, a given message encrypted at two different times, will be encrypted differently. When the email reaches its destination, the recipient just has to type is password/passphrase to decrypt the message (the password/passphrase can also be stored on the machine and inputed automatically after the user has been authenticated). The program then decrypts the whole message and the user can be sure that the contents have not been spied or altered by anyone other than himself and the sender. The execution speed of the algorithm makes it so that the encryption (or decryption) of an email and its attachments takes only a few milliseconds (on a standard laptop).
